Take a cruise on Lake Skadar and stop off on the small island of Odrinska Gora to visit the Kom monastery!
Go to Virpazar, a small village north of Lake Skadar (also known as Lake Shkodra). At the heart of the national park of the same name, which acts as the border between Montenegro and Albania, Lake Skadar is the largest lake in the Balkans. You'll meet your local guide at the rendezvous point and set off on a 3-hour cruise, discovering the flora and fauna. You'll follow a river surrounded by reeds and then discover the Lesendro fortress (18th century), situated on an island in the middle of the lake. You'll continue your cruise up the river Morača, home to a bird sanctuary of 15 different species, then discover a panorama over the three central islands of Lake Skadar: Small Cakovica, Big Cakovica and Lipovnjak. Your guide will take you to the small island of Odrinska Gora where you'll find the monastery Kom, which you'll visit and learn about the customs of the monks. Finally, on the way back, you'll enjoy a stop in the middle of the lake to refresh before returning to your departure point.
