Discover Japan in a new way with this tour combining hiking and cultural immersion!

Day 1 – Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo and enjoy a smooth transfer by shared shuttle to your hotel. Pick up your Pocket Wifi at the reception to stay connected throughout your stay.

Day 2 – Tokyo
After breakfast, embark on a day of exploration. Visit Akihabara, the heart of geek culture and manga, stroll through Harajuku and Takeshita Street, and discover the serene Meiji Jingu Shrine. Then, experience the bustling Shibuya Crossing before finishing your day in the vibrant district of Shinjuku.

Day 3 – Tokyo – Mount Takao – Tokyo
After breakfast, travel by train to Mount Takao for an easy yet scenic hike. Walk along the southern slopes, where you’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation and waterfalls. After reaching the summit, descend via Omotesando and visit the Yakuo-in Temple. For an added adventure, you can opt to visit the Monkey Park. Return to Tokyo by train.

Day 4 – Tokyo – Hakone
Following breakfast, head to Hakone with your Hakone Free Pass. Spend the afternoon visiting the Hakone-jinja Shrine, enjoy a boat ride across Lake Ashi, and take the cable car up to Owakudani Valley for spectacular views.
End the day with a traditional Japanese dinner and enjoy the relaxing onsen at your ryokan.

Day 5 – Hakone – Kyoto
After breakfast at the ryokan, take the train to Kyoto. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Kyoto’s historic Gion district, Nishiki Market, or Nijo Castle.

Day 6 – Kyoto
After breakfast, visit the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-ji Temple, or the charming Saga Toriimoto district. Cross the famous Togetsukyo Bridge and hike up to Iwatayama to take in breathtaking views and observe the monkeys in their natural habitat. Finish your day with a visit to the iconic Golden Pavilion, Kinkaku-ji.

Day 7 – Kyoto – Mount Inari – Nara – Kyoto
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before activating your Kansai Hiroshima Pass. Embark on a hike to Mount Inari, where you’ll be surrounded by thousands of red torii gates at the Fushimi Inari Shrine. Next, head to Nara to explore the serene Deer Park, Kofukuji Temple, and the impressive Todaiji Temple.

Day 8 – Kyoto – Hiroshima
After breakfast, travel by train to Hiroshima. Before departing Kyoto, take a final stroll along the Kamo-gawa River, visit Pontocho Alley, or walk the tranquil Path of Philosophy.

Day 9 – Hiroshima – Mount Misen – Hiroshima
After breakfast, take an excursion to Miyajima Island. Hike to Mount Misen, a sacred Shinto site known for its lush forests, temples, and dramatic rock formations. On your descent, visit the famous Itsukushima Shrine and Daisho-in Temple.

Day 10 – Hiroshima – Himeji – Osaka
Following breakfast, journey to Osaka with a stop in Himeji to visit its UNESCO-listed castle. In the evening, explore Osaka’s lively Namba district and savor the iconic takoyaki street food.

Day 11 – Osaka – Mount Koya
After breakfast, head to Mount Koya with your World Heritage Ticket. Experience the unique serenity of a Buddhist monastery, with a guided tour of the site, a vegetarian dinner, a soothing onsen experience, and peaceful meditation in the gardens.

Day 12 – Mount Koya – Osaka
Enjoy breakfast at the monastery, then participate in a Buddhist ceremony before hiking along the Nyonindo Trail, an ancient pilgrimage route dedicated to women. Conclude your visit at the mystical Okuno-in Cemetery, one of Japan’s most sacred sites. Return to Osaka.
Overnight in Osaka

Day 13 – Osaka – Return to France
After breakfast, transfer by limousine bus to Kansai Airport for your return flight to France.

Accommodation capacity :

  • All specific requests for sleeping arrangements (double/separate beds) are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.
  • For technical reasons, hotels may be replaced by similar accommodation and tour stops may be reversed.
  • In Japan, hotel rooms are often quite narrow and beds small. Check-in is usually mid-afternoon (3pm-4pm).
  • Please note that some hotels provide an eco-stay package. (Bed linen and room cleaning are done every 3 days or so, depending on the hotel).

  • In the event of late arrival or early departure on the first or last day due to airline schedules, no refund will be made. Similarly, any meals included in the package that cannot be taken due to these schedules cannot be reimbursed. Also, depending on the timetable of any optional extras and excursions, meals that cannot be taken at the hotel will be charged to the customer.
     

Transportation

  • Shuttle Transfer - Airport to Hotel in Tokyo:
    The transfer is provided by a shared shuttle. It will drop you off in front of your hotel and may make several stops along the way. One piece of luggage per person is included; for additional luggage, please contact us before your departure.
  • Limousine Transfer - Osaka to Kansai Airport (KIX):
    The Limousine Bus (public transport) operates between the airport and the city center. The nearest bus stops to your accommodation will be provided in your travel guide. The connection between the limousine bus stop and your hotel is usually made on foot but may also be accessible by subway or bus depending on your hotel’s location.
    In Osaka, this service is available for departures from Kansai Airport (KIX) between 9:30 AM and 1:00 AM. Outside of these hours, transfers will be at your own expense. A supplement for a private transfer may be offered. Transfers from Itami (ITM) or Kobe (UKB) airports will be at your own expense.
  • Tokyo to Mount Takao Train:
    In Japan, the train is undoubtedly one of the best ways to get around quickly and easily. Mount Takao is about 1 hour from Tokyo. Please note that train schedules will be provided in your travel booklet.
  • Hakone Free Pass:
    This pass allows you to travel from Tokyo Shinjuku to Hakone on the Odakyu Line. After a transfer at Odawara, continue to Hakone and use your pass for transport networks such as Hakone Tozan buses, Hakone Tozan cable cars, the Lake Ashi cruise boat, and the funicular railway, among others. The pass also provides discounts on certain entrance fees to tourist sites!
  • Odawara (Hakone) to Kyoto Train:
    The train is one of the best ways to travel quickly and easily in Japan. Hakone is about 2 hours from Kyoto, and your Hakone Free Pass will first take you to Odawara Station, where you can transfer to a train to Kyoto. Please note that train schedules will be provided in your travel booklet.
  • Luggage Transfer Between Tokyo and Kyoto:
    Take advantage of the luggage transfer service to make your journey easier: your luggage will be collected from your Tokyo hotel early in the morning and transferred to your Kyoto hotel, so you won’t have to carry it during the Tokyo-Hakone and Hakone-Kyoto journeys. You will need to bring a small bag for your overnight stay in Hakone.
  • Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass:
    The train is probably one of the most convenient and fastest modes of transport in Japan. The well-developed rail network gives you easy access to the country’s main points of interest. Your pass is valid for 5 days and gives you access to all JR trains, JR buses, certain express lines (excluding express buses), and JR ferries.
  • World Heritage Ticket:
    This 2-day pass includes round-trip travel to Mount Koya from Namba Station on the Nankai Line and unlimited travel on all Mount Koya buses. It also offers discounts on certain entrance fees to tourist sites!
