Enjoy a half-day excursion from San José to discover the Irazu volcano, Costa Rica's largest volcano!

At an altitude of over 3,400 metres, Irazu is the country's largest volcano.

Starting from your hotel in San José, you will take a scenic route to the volcano. Your bus will take you to the summit, where you can wander around freely to enjoy the view. You can see inside the crater and discover the volcano's ecosystem. On a clear day, you'll be lucky enough to see the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other!

On the way back to San José, you'll stop at the historic village of Cartago, founded and 1563 and the former capital of Costa Rica. You will visit the Basilica of our Lady of the Angels before returning to San José.
