Leave for two days to explore the D-Day landing beaches, Saint-Malo and Mont Saint-Michel, by coach from Paris with a guide!
Day 1:
Departing from Paris at 7:15 am, an air-conditioned coach will first take you to Rouen. You'll start with a guided walking tour of its historic center with its Notre Dame Cathedral, medieval alleyways, half-timbered houses and the Gros Horloge. You'll then head to the commune of Honfleur, renowned for its picturesque old port, where you'll have free time to discover this port city with its historical and artistic heritage. You can also take advantage of this free time to have lunch in the town (not included).
You will then reach the Normandy landing beaches to discover the Saint-Laurent American military cemetery in Colleville sur Mer and the Omaha Beach.
If time permits, you can also make a stop at Arromanches, famous for its Allied artificial harbor.
Finally, you'll reach Caen to settle into your hotel and enjoy a pleasant dinner with the group at the hotel.
Day 2:
After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, you'll head to Saint-Malo where your guide will take you on a tour of the seaside resort's must-see sights, such as the cathedral and ramparts.
After a free lunch (not included) in the city, you'll be driven to Mont Saint-Michel and its bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marking the border between Brittany and Normandy. You'll climb up to Mont Saint-Michel Abbey and take a guided tour of this predominantly Gothic edifice. You'll have some free time to stroll around the village, sample specialities and/or buy souvenirs.
Finally, you'll be back on the road by 4:30pm, returning to Paris by 9:15pm.
