Hike around Madeira's highest peaks with a mountain guide and climb Pico Ruivo ! 

You'll enjoy a transfer from Funchal to Madeira's mountainous region, where the island's highest peaks are concentrated. You'll start your ascent in the company of your professional mountain guide, and as you ascend you'll see the landscape change from lush vegetation to dry, ochre-hued land. 

You'll cross the peaks of Pico do Arieiro and Achada do Teixeira and reach the summit of Pico Ruivo, Madeira's highest point at 1,860m above sea level. The spectacular views will be a real reward, between ocean, sea of clouds and lush vegetation at your feet.

É bom saber

  • Availability: Wednesday, Saturday (except in exceptional cases)
  • Starting point: Estrada Monumental in Funchal or from your hotel located in downtown Funchal
  • In the case of departure from a hotel or personalized address, the exact pick-up time and location will be confirmed to you after booking. If your hotel is located outside Funchal, a supplement of €10 will be charged on site 
  • Trail suitable for a confirmed level: 10km for an estimated walking time of 5h00
  • Whatever the weather conditions, remember to wear sturdy, comfortable shoes
  • The activity does not require a minimum booking, however this activity requires a minimum of 4 participants in total (if the minimum number of people is not reached, an alternative date will be proposed)
