Live a unique experience with dinner at Bucharest's Museum of Communism after closing and an immersive guided tour!
You'll meet your guide at the Museum of Communism, located in Bucharest's Old Town, in the early evening. Your experience will begin at the museum's café-bar, where you'll be greeted with a welcome glass. You'll enjoy a traditional palinka or cherry liqueur, accompanied by water, soda or specialty espresso according to your preference.
You'll then take part in a full guided tour of the museum, in English. Your guide will introduce you to the international context that led to the establishment of communism in Romania. You'll discover the major milestones of this historic period, as well as anecdotes and personal stories illustrating daily life under the Communist regime.
After the tour, you'll take a seat in the museum's lounge for a themed dinner inspired by the era. The meal will be served in authentic crockery dating from the Communist period. You'll enjoy a selection of Romanian specialties: assorted cold meats, cheeses and vegetable spreads as starters, main courses depending on product availability, followed by homemade desserts, rarely offered in traditional restaurants.
Your dinner will also include a non-alcoholic drink, a shot of traditional alcohol, a specialty espresso and a craft beer or glass of Romanian wine.
You'll extend the evening with access to the museum's interactive spaces. You'll be able to try on vintage clothes, listen to music on vintage record players and cassettes, and explore the nooks and crannies of the museum at your own pace.
At the end of this convivial and cultural experience lasting around 2h30, you'll be left free to enjoy Bucharest's Old Town.
